Since 2013, he has also led the Marketing, Sales and Account Management functions for Schlumberger. Belani studied electrical engineering in India and holds a graduate degree in petroleum engineering from Stanford University.

Graduated in geology (Msc) from Angola University and post-graduated in Petroleum Geology from Algerian Petroleum Institute. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum sector.
He started his career ate AMOCO. In 1978 he joined Sonangol where he held technical and management positions and served also as adviser to the Minister of Petroleum of Angola. In November 1990 he joined Elf Exploration Angola as Deputy General Manager. Assigned to the head offices in Paris, he was responsible for the Elf Aquitaine E&P joint Ventures. In 1999, he held the position of Delegate General Manager in TotalFinaElf E&P Angola and then CEO for Total E&P Brasil and Group Representative in the Country.
In August 2008, he became Sonangol’s Country Manager in Brazil and then CEO of Sonangol Starfish Oil & Gas (SSOG). From October 2011, he became Senior Advisor of SSOG Presidency. Candido has been an active member of IBP and has served as member of the Administrations’s Council.

He has been in Petrobras for over 33 years, working in the Exploration and Production area. During his career, Fernando held several management positions, including Reservoir Manager in Campos and Sergipe-Alagoas Basins, E&P-SUL Business Unit General Manager, E&P Production Engineering General Manager, Mexilhão Gas field Project Manager and Petrobras Bolivia E&P Director. He got a bachelor degree on Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlandia and also has an Executive MBA from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

He joined the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers in January 2016, after spending more than 30 years working at Schlumberger, on four continents. He became the company’s UK chair in 2005. He has also served as chair of the UK’s Oil and Gas Industry Council and was co-chair of the industry trade association, Oil & Gas UK. The executive director remains chair of OPITO International, the upstream oil & gas skills organization. Gordon graduated from the University of Glasgow with a B.SC. Hons in Civil Engineering and holds a Masters in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot‐Watt University.
